Taxonomy * Vernonia pyrrhopappa Sch. Bip. ex Klatt was described apparently as a new species without reference to Strobocalyx pyrrhopappa Sch. Bip., but with the same collection as type. Klatt based his name on a specimen in Hasskarl's herbarium and gave a Latin diagnosis, contrary to other names mentioned that he apparently knew had been published. Perhaps a type specimen can be found in L with both Sch. Bip. and Klatt labels to support the notion that the citation of the same type can be interpreted as an indirect reference? [details]
