(Prenanthes viminea L., Phaenixopus vimineus (L.) Rchb., Lactuca viminea (L.) J. Presl & C. Presl). Note: One often finds the name misspelt ‘Phoenixopus’, a spelling that apparently results from a misinterpretation of its etymology. As explained by Cassini (l.c.), Phaenixopus means ‘with an apparently sticky foot’ and has no relation with phoenix (either the mythical bird or the date palm).
