Distribution This species has a narrow distribution. It grows on the gentle saddle of a low hill from which an intermittent river starts its flow. The dirt road that takes you to the base of this hill follows a small canyon. We were told by the local inhabitants that the road was built to harvest rock from the canyon walls. This canyon is north of the Sierra del Filo de la Tierra Colorada. This locality also has a few plants of Coreopsis davilae, whose type locality is a several hours hike from this spot to the summit of Cerro Tepoxtla Grande. [details]
