Based on Erigeron zollingeri Sch. Bip. p.p.; distinguished from C. argutidens by the provenance (!) and (p. 186) 'this is why I propose to call it C. tamborensis. Both species are distinct by the extremely short corolla of the female flowers'. This seems just barely sufficient for a valid diagnosis [see Taxon 51 (2002) 172 for a similar example, 11-2 of the Committee voted against this being valid]. But see Art. 32.2: 'statement ... which ... distinguishes the taxon from others': this does not specify how a new taxon differs from a closely related one!; accepted as two spp on p. 237.
